Nottinghamshire’s Rainbow Heritage is a project sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund. It started in January 2008 and will run for at least three years.
It celebrates Nottinghamshire’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) lives, hidden history and culture.

Organise events: exhibitions; displays; workshops and training.
Most of the events will coincide with Nottingham Pride Festival (each July) and LGBT History Month (each February). Click HERE for a slide show of: our exhibition at View from the Top. This will take you away from this website and you will need to click the BACK button to return.
Gather audio and video recordings of LGBT people’s experiences and opinions
Develop a Heritage Trail

Explore the site
1. To find out about people, places and events in LGBT history locally, nationally and internationally
2. Add your own views and comments about things you see on the site
The biggest section is under "Our Heritage". Here you will find local venues, groups, magazines - past and present ... newspaper cuttings ... quotes from interviews ... an LGBT timeline. (Many of the documents can be downloaded as pdfs.) Listen to audio clips. Make comments on the NRH blog
